Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Shadow Creme in Gold Dust & Mochachino

Estee Lauder makes some great, reliable, products. I don't think they have the same allure as other mid-high end make up brands, but the quality is definitely there, and I bought two more cream shadows from their Double Wear range.

I have to say, the navy and gold colour scheme reminds me of old (military?) uniforms.

The shadows come in heavy glass jars with a screw top lid. I really like that the actual product sits quite high in the jars, and that they are filled right to the top. Most people, myself included, prefer to use fingers to apply these type of products, and this makes it so much easier.

There is a decent range of shades in the permanent collection, and, of course, I chose easy, wearable, colours for lazy days. Gold Dust is a warm gold with shimmer, Mochachino is a mushroom grey. They have a firm but creamy consistency, and apply without much effort on my part. Both colours last really well on my oily lids (can't comment on the 15-hour claim however) and they make a great substitute to primer when used underneath powder eye shadow. Highly recommended.

  1. I have a couple of there (including gold dust) and really love them. I find the pigmentation in them is better than MAC's paint pots and they do stay on very well.

  2. Mochachino looks awfully nice! Ahhh, the Estee lauder packaging... I think it's actually transitioning from blue/gold to plain gold, I miss those old-school dark glossy blue eyeshadow palettes with the gold EL logo sculpted on the top :(

  7. I think these shadows make a great base, but I prefer the pigmentation of Bobbi Brown Cream Shadows.

  9. The gold is really beautiful, I have a nice purple from E L that I really love, it goes on so smoothly and I like the glass pots too.

  10. These really remind me of MAC Paint Pots and the 24 hour eyeshadow color "tattoo" in the drugstore. The presentation is very luxe!
